Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This page explains what DesiTasks (https://desitasks.com) stores in your browser, why, and how you can switch it off. Our rule is simple: apart from the essentials, nothing is switched on without your permission.

What are cookies?

Cookies and "local storage" are small text files a website keeps in your browser, so it can remember your choices next time or count how many people use it.

1. Essentials (always on)

These stay on your device and are never sent to us. The website does not work properly without them:

  • Language choice (ds_lang): whether you picked Hindi or English, so the same language opens next time.
  • Cookie choice (ds_cookie_consent): whether you allowed Analytics and personalised ads or not.
  • Offline copy (service worker): to show a simple page when there is no internet.

2. Analytics (only with your permission)

Only if you press "Allow all" in the cookie box or switch on "Analytics" do we switch on Google Analytics 4. It tells us:

  • which pages and platforms are viewed most
  • whether people visit from a phone or a computer, and which browser they use
  • roughly which state or city a visit came from

It does not give us your name, phone number, email or full IP address. Google Analytics stores these cookies: _ga and _ga_<ID> (for up to 2 years). How Google handles this information is explained in Google's Privacy Policy.

If you press "Essential only", Google Analytics is not loaded at all. If Global Privacy Control is switched on in your browser, we treat it as a "no" to both Analytics and personalised ads, and do not even ask.

3. Ads: Google AdSense and other ad companies

To pay for running the website we may show ads from Google AdSense and, in the future, other trusted ad companies. Ad companies' cookies (such as Google's __gads, __gpi) do two jobs:

  • Personalised ads: showing ads based on your interests. This happens only with your permission, that is when you press "Allow all" or switch on "Personalised ads".
  • Without permission: you still see ads, but they are not personalised, and we signal Google to keep ad cookies off (Google Consent Mode). Even for these ads Google may use limited data to prevent fraud and to count how often an ad was shown.

Read how Google uses information in ads here. You can also turn off personalised ads in Google Ads Settings. If we add a new ad company, its name will be added to this page and it will follow the same permission rule.

4. Other services

  • Google Fonts: the website's lettering comes from Google Fonts. While loading a font Google can see your IP address, but no cookie is stored for this.
  • Cloudflare: our website runs on Cloudflare. To protect against attacks, Cloudflare may set a security cookie when needed.
  • Outside websites: a platform's Join or Sign Up button takes you to that platform's website, where its own cookie policy applies.

How to change your choice

  • Press "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page to change your choice at any time. When you withdraw permission, the Google Analytics and ad cookies are deleted.
  • You can clear all cookies and site data from your browser settings.
  • To block Google Analytics on every website, you can use Google's opt-out add-on.
